Shake Off Water
Aim: To release tension from body, especially after experiencing danger (emotional or physical)

Shake your body and release tension.
Instructions:
When the mind perceives danger, we might try to rationally convince ourselves that there is no need to be afraid. However, if the body itself does not receive the information that it is safe and that there is no danger, it will still show tension. One of the ways how to get fear out of your body is to simply shake it.
- Stand up. Take a few deep breaths and imagine that your body is covered with water and your task is to shake it off.
- Keep your eyes open. Start with one leg. Shake your leg as if you want to shake water off it. Do it for a few moments. Then shake off water from the other leg.
- Move to one arm and shake it off, then repeat with the other.
- Finally, shake your whole body in whatever direction feels comfortable.
- When you feel like it is enough, take a few deep breaths. When you breathe out, feel free to use noise, such as long ‘aaaaaaaa’.
Advice:
While shaking your body, try to relax as much as possible.
