Setting Self-Care Goal
Aim: To set a realistic goal for improving self-care
Level: 5
Duration: 60+ min
Achieving goals becomes easier with a structured plan.
Instructions:
- Prepare a pen and paper. Take a moment to think about the area of your life that could use more self-care. What would you like to improve and why do you want to achieve it? Write it down!
- Next, imagine that you have achieved your goal. How would you feel if it came true? What would that look like? Add as much detail as you can and write it down.
- Identify any possible obstacles that might stand in the way of achieving your goal. Think about your mindset, skills, and habits. How busy are you? What is happening in your environment? Make a list.
- Read the list of obstacles. How can you remove them? Is there anyone who could help you? Write it down.
- When can you start working on achieving your goal? What are the first steps you are going to take and when? List the immediate steps and create an action plan for the first few days. Continue listing the steps and making a timeline.
- Read your goal and the steps you will take to achieve it. Define ways to celebrate the steps. Celebration is about doing the things that make you happy and taking the time to appreciate your results and how far you have come.
Advice:
Setting self-care goals is a process that might take more time and thinking. Feel free to take a break whenever needed and come back to questions when you feel ready. Stick with one goal at a time, track your progress, and try to find peers to support you.
